Ingredients for Making Hummus:

  • 2 cups boiled chickpeas
  • Approximately 1/4 cup tahini
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 large cloves of garlic
  • Water, cumin, salt

For the topping:

  • Olive oil, paprika

Hummus Making Recipe:

  • Rinse the chickpeas thoroughly and soak them in water overnight. In the morning, transfer the chickpeas to a pressure cooker, add enough water to cover them, and boil.
  • Peel the skins of the boiled chickpeas. Some people prefer to keep the skins, but I prefer to remove them.
  • In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, salt, and a little water. Blend until smooth. If the consistency is too thick, you can add a little more water to thin it out.
  • Transfer the hummus to a serving plate. Heat olive oil and paprika in a pan and drizzle it over the hummus.
  • Enjoy your hummus!

Tips for Making Hummus:

  • Soaking chickpeas in water the night before will help them cook more evenly.
  • Boiling chickpeas in a pressure cooker will expedite the cooking process. If using a regular pot, be prepared to extend the cooking time.
  • You can also use pre-boiled chickpeas from the store or use chickpeas that you've previously boiled and stored in the refrigerator.
